District of Columbia: Data breach law enters into effect

The Security Breach Protection Amendment Act of 2019 ('the Act') was published, on 10 April 2020, in the District of Columbia Register following a Congressional review period, and entered into effect on the same date. In particular, the Act amends the State's data breach law by, among other things, safeguarding a broader range of personal information and creating security requirements for companie
