Gustavo Daniel Tanús is a Partner at Tanús, Steinborn, Kaprielan & Saenz de Santa María law firm. He obtained his law degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1995 and is admitted to the bar in Argentina. In September 2000, he obtained an LLM in Computer Law at Universidad Complutense de Madrid with a focus on privacy and data protection. Gustavo has worked in some of the best law firms in Argentina and interned at the Community of Madrid's data protection authority. He advises clients on data protection, computer and internet law, search engine liability, trademark prosecution, intellectual property litigation and insurance law.
Gustavo has written several chapters of international publications and numerous articles exploring data protection and technology law, and co-authored the Data Protection Bill of the City of Buenos Aires, currently Law No. 1845, and its Regulations. He is also the founder of Ciberderecho, a civil society organisation that promotes and discusses legal issues on cyberlaw and data protection in Latin America.
